Ride Local - Think Global

Globalbike was started by six friends in a Spartanburg, SC coffee shop after a conversaion about changing the world with bicycles. That meeting led to 10 bikes being purchased for caregivers in Zambia, who could visit more patients by cycling instead of walking. Today, Globalbike has thousands  bikes on the ground in seven developing nations. Below is video of Globalbike founder Curt McPhail and his inspiration and vision.

To further the Globalbike message, in 2007 Globalbike started Team Athletix Benefiting Globalbike. The premier Pro/Elite team in the southeast. In 2008, Globalbike expanded their reach with the first "Globalbike Chapter Team" in the Upstate of South Carolina. In 2009, two local Charlotte area cyclists teamed-up to start Chapter Team #2, expanding Globalbike's reach even more. Today Globalbike Charlotte represents Globalbike.Org in the regions races, time trials, triathlons, and charity events.
